According to the situation report, it was 98.6 across all districts on 07 May 2021, compared to 103.7 the previous day. The value indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants have been newly infected with the virus in the past seven days. Since the so-called federal emergency brake came into force, the incidence value is based on the data of the RKI. According to the emergency brake, federal states and districts can seek cautious openings again if the incidence value remains below 100 for at least five days in a row.

Occupancy of intensive care beds by corona patients decreases

Meanwhile, the situation in the intensive care units continues to calm down slowly. However, there is still no relief in sight: according to Friday's data, 24 percent of intensive care beds were still occupied by Covid 19 patients. This means that the occupancy rate remains just below the critical value of 25 percent. But it is only declining slowly - by 0.5 percentage points compared to the previous day.

13 more deaths reported

Between Wednesday and Thursday, 596 new infections and 13 deaths related to Covid-19 were registered in Berlin. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 171,741 infections and 3255 deaths have been reported. The number of those who have recovered rose by 844 to a total of 159,448.
