In Berlin, 1053 new infections with the coronavirus have been registered.
Nine more people died, according to the situation report of the Senate Department of Health on 28 April 2021. According to the report, the seven-day incidence dropped slightly to 134.0. The value indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants have been newly infected with the virus in the past seven days. Since the law on the nationwide Corona emergency brake, the value has been based on figures from the Robert Koch Institute.
The number of infected people in Berlin since the start of the pandemic last year was reported at 167 101, of which 153 233 people are considered to have recovered. 3210 people have died so far in connection with Corona. According to the Robert Koch Institute, 23.1 percent of Berlin's population had been vaccinated against the virus at least once by Tuesday. 8.9 percent had already received the second dose. Meanwhile, the burden in Berlin's intensive care units remains high: 26.4 per cent of intensive care beds are occupied by Covid 19 patients, according to the health administration.
