1135 New corona infections: Incidence falls below 150
In Berlin, 1135 new Corona infections have been reported between Wednesday and Thursday.
This brought the total number of registered infections to 162,780, according to the Senate Health Administration's situation report of Thursday, 22 April 2021. The previous day, there had been 1166 newly reported infections.
Incidence value below 150 mark according to RKI and situation report
According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) in Berlin, the so-called seven-day incidence was 134 on Thursday. According to the situation report, the value on Thursday was even 147.8. With the federal law passed this week to tighten the Corona measures, only the corresponding figure of the RKI is decisive for relaxations or tightenings as of Saturday this week.
Six more deaths
So far, 3175 people have died in Berlin in connection with Covid-19, meaning that six more deaths have been registered between Wednesday and Thursday. 148 683 people are considered to have recovered. According to the Robert Koch Institute, more than 20 per cent of the Berlin population have now received their first vaccination, and around eight per cent have also received the second.
Proportion of Covid 19 patients in intensive care units increases
In Berlin, several factors concerning the infection situation are taken into account in a traffic light. The proportion of Covid 19 patients in Berlin's intensive care units rose again on Thursday and remained in the red zone at 27.3 per cent, as did the incidence value for seven days. The R-value, which indicates how many people an infected person infects on average, on the other hand, is in the green zone at 0.77.
