In Berlin, the number of people who have been proven to be infected with the coronavirus is increasing. 1205 new infections were reported most recently, according to the situation report of the Senate Health Administration of 01 April 2021.
On the previous day, 1012 new infections had been registered. Within one week, 141.6 infections per 100,000 inhabitants were registered, compared to 138.1 the day before. Currently, politicians are looking closely at this so-called seven-day incidence.
Since the beginning of the pandemic a year ago, 147,466 infections have been reported in Berlin. 3071 people have died in connection with the coronavirus since then, adding 16 deaths. 134 566 people are now considered to have recovered.
The Berlin Corona traffic light continues to show red for incidence. In terms of the so-called R-value, it is in the green zone at 0.70 (previous day 0.85). The R-value indicates how many people an infected person infects on average. 20.2 percent of intensive care beds are occupied by Covid 19 patients, slightly more than the previous day (19.3 percent).
