1012 new corona infections reported

The corona incidence in Berlin has again fallen slightly, but remains well above the critical mark of 100.

On Wednesday (31 March 2021), the number of infected persons per 100 000 inhabitants in the past seven days was 138.1, according to the health administration's situation report. The previous day, the figure was 142.4. 1012 new infections were reported. This brings the number of infected persons to 146 261 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

Incidence for one week over 100

Since last Tuesday (incidence 102.3), the incidence has been above 100 without interruption and had risen daily until Monday. The highest value is still in the district of Neukölln with 195.5 (previous day 191). Eight new deaths related to the coronavirus were reported. The number of people who have died has thus risen to 3055. 133,933 people are considered to have recovered.

19.3 percent of intensive care beds occupied by Covid 19 patients

The Berlin Corona traffic light continues to show red for incidence. In terms of the so-called R-value, it remains in the green zone at 0.85. The R-value indicates how many people an infected person infects on average. 19.3 per cent of intensive care beds are occupied by Covid 19 patients, slightly more than the previous day (18.9 per cent). The Berlin traffic light continues to show yellow here. The critical limit is defined at 25 percent in Berlin.
