Incidence value in Berlin rises above 100
In Berlin, the number of new corona infections reported per 100,000 inhabitants within one week has risen above the important 100 mark again.
According to the Senate Health Administration's situation report, the seven-day incidence on Tuesday was 102.3. In the days before, the value ranked just below 100, and on Friday it was 101.3. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 139,733 infections have been registered in the city. That was 751 more than the previous day. 129 833 people are now considered recovered (up 538). 13 more people died after a Corona infection. The number of deaths thus rose to 3011.
In the Berlin Corona traffic light, the incidence is still red, the so-called R-value is still green. It indicates how many people an infected person infects on average and was 0.97 on Tuesday (previous day 1.06). The situation of the hospitals is still indicated with yellow: 16.6 percent of the intensive care beds are currently occupied by Covid 19 patients. The previous day it was 15.8 percent.
At the moment, politicians are looking closely at the so-called incidence. With a stable incidence of more than 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days, the first relaxations of the past weeks must be reversed.
