According to the health administration's situation report on Saturday (March 20, 2021), the current value ranks at 97.2, while the day before it was just above the threshold at 101.3.

"Emergency brake" agreed from incidence of 100

At the beginning of March, the federal and state governments had agreed on a so-called emergency brake: "If the 7-day incidence per 100,000 inhabitants rises to over 100 for three consecutive days in a federal state or region, the rules that applied until March 7 will come into force again as of the second following working day (emergency brake)."

Corona traffic light shows red, yellow and green

Accordingly, the Berlin Corona traffic light continues to show red for this factor. The R-value, on the other hand, remains green. This indicates the average number of people infected by an infected person. According to the current situation report, the R-value is now 1.04, after 1.00 the day before. It must be permanently below 1 for the pandemic to be slowed down.

There was little change with regard to the Berlin hospitals: 16.4 percent of the intensive care beds are currently occupied by Covid 19 patients (previous day: 16.5 percent). The traffic light here is yellow.

Six more deaths

With 286 newly reported cases, the number of infections in Berlin has risen to 138 218. 128,612 of these people are now considered recovered. Another 6 people have died in connection with the Corona pandemic in Berlin. The number of deaths thus increased to 2991.

On weekends, there is usually not so much testing, also subsequent reports of the health offices are possible.
