This was announced by the Senate Health Administration on Thursday evening. According to the statement, Senator Dilek Kalayci (SPD) said, "I call on everyone who has received an invitation to be vaccinated to take the opportunity to be vaccinated. All those who are eligible to receive vaccination will be explicitly informed about possible risks."

Appointments will be reinstated and rearranged

All appointments in the future that were canceled on Monday are to be reinstated. "For this purpose, those eligible for vaccination will be contacted by mail and SMS, as far as the contact details are stored," the Senate administration said.

Vaccination-eligible persons whose appointment was not made due to the vaccination freeze between Monday afternoon (March 15) and Thursday (March 18) can come this Saturday and Sunday without an appointment directly to the vaccination center originally booked for them in Tegel (9 a.m.-6 p.m.) or Tempelhof (2 p.m.-6 p.m.) during opening hours. Alternatively, they can also be vaccinated on any working day of the coming week by contacting the vaccination hotline and making an appointment.

EMA rates AstraZeneca as safe

Astrazeneca's Corona vaccine is safe according to the European Medicines Agency (EMA), the agency announced Thursday in Amsterdam. However, it said an extra warning about possible rare blood clots (thromboses) in brain veins would be included among the possible side effects. Distribution of the vaccine had been suspended nationwide this week because of the agency's review. The goal now is to be able to start vaccinating again this Friday, Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) announced after the EMA vote and consultations with the federal states.

Following the re-approval of the vaccine by the manufacturer Astrazeneca, the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Berlin has called for nationwide vaccination with this vaccine in doctors' practices in the capital.
