The incidence value means that in the past seven days, corona infection was detected in about 98 out of 100,000 people. With a value of 100, recently applied relaxations could soon be in question again - as part of the emergency brake agreed by the federal and state governments.

Eleven more deaths

With 629 newly reported cases, the number of infections in Berlin has risen to 137 038. 127,871 of those people are now considered recovered, the health administration said Thursday (March 18, 2021) in its daily situation report. Eleven more people have died. Thus, the number of deaths rose to 2967.

Corona traffic light continues to show red twice

The Berlin Corona traffic light continues to show red twice: for seven-day incidence and for change in 7-day incidence with a 60 percent increase within one week. 16.8 percent of intensive care beds in Berlin hospitals are currently occupied by Covid 19 patients. This means that this traffic light is on yellow, and the threshold for the highest warning level is 25 percent.

The situation is somewhat more relaxed with regard to the so-called R-value. The reproduction figure indicates how many other people on average are infected by an infected person. Here, the traffic light is green with a value of 1.07; at 1.1, it would jump to yellow.
