The seven-day incidence in Berlin, which is important with regard to possible relaxations, has increased but remains lower than a week ago.
There were 65.8 infections with the coronavirus per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days - after 57.9 the day before and around 70 a week ago. This is according to the situation report of the Senate Department for Health on Friday. Within 24 hours, the health offices of the districts reported 644 new infections (previous day: 553) and 5 additional deaths.
The Corona traffic light remains red for the incidence criterion. The warning system shows yellow for the proportion of intensive care beds occupied by Covid 19 patients: 16.1 percent. The traffic light is green for the reproduction rate of 0.67. This means that 100 infected people infect 67 other people on average. If this value is significantly below 1 in the long term, the pandemic is slowed down.
A total of 2933 deaths related to the virus have been recorded in Berlin since the beginning of the Corona crisis. The total number of registered infections in the city is 134,035, the number of unreported cases is probably significantly higher. 125,756 people are considered to have recovered.
