268 new corona infections: Incidence value rises slightly

The seven-day incidence of corona infections in Berlin remains above 50.

On Tuesday (23 February 2021), the Senate Health Administration registered 57.9 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days, again slightly more than the previous day (57.2). After the value had dropped significantly for weeks, the trend recently reversed again. The corresponding Corona traffic light thus remains red. It would only change to yellow at a value of 30, and to green at 20.
On Tuesday, 268 newly infected people were registered in Berlin. The number of cases thus rose to 127,453. 26 people also died from or with the virus. The number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic thus rose to 2766 in Berlin.

The Corona traffic light continues to show yellow for the proportion of intensive care beds occupied by Covid 19 patients: it is currently 19.4 percent. The threshold for a red traffic light signal is 25 percent. The reproduction figure, on the other hand, is in the green zone: the so-called R-value, which indicates how many people an infected person infects on average, fell from 1.24 on Monday to 1.04 now.
