Incidence rate continues to rise: 287 new infections

The seven-day incidence of Corona infections continues to rise in Berlin. On Monday (22 February 2021), the health administration registered 57.2 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days, higher than Sunday's incidence of 56.6 cases. On Saturday and Friday, the figure was 54.9.

After the value had dropped significantly in the past weeks, the trend reversed again recently. The corresponding Corona traffic light thus remains red. It would only change to yellow at a value of 30, to green at 20. 287 newly infected people were registered in Berlin on Monday. The number of cases thus rose to 127,185. Twelve people have also died from or with the virus. The number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic thus rose to 2740 in Berlin. The Corona traffic light continues to show yellow for the proportion of intensive care beds occupied by Covid 19 patients: it is currently 19.5 percent. The threshold for a red traffic light signal is 25 percent.
