In Berlin, the number of reported new infections with the coronavirus has fallen: 372 cases were registered on 19 February 2021, according to the health administration's situation report. On Thursday, 475 new infections had been reported.
18 more people died in connection with the coronavirus. The number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic thus rose to 2720. The so-called seven-day incidence remained almost unchanged. It now stands at 54.9, according to the health administration (previous day 54.6). The value indicates how many people per 100,000 have been infected within seven days.
The Corona traffic light remains red at this point. It would only change to yellow at a value of 30, to green at 20. According to the situation report, the lowest incidence is in the district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf (40.3). The highest value is in Lichtenberg with 70.
The Corona traffic light shows yellow for the proportion of intensive care beds occupied by Covid 19 patients: it is currently 21.1 percent. The threshold for a red traffic light signal is 25 percent. According to the report, 126,573 Corona infections have been registered in Berlin since the beginning of the pandemic.
