546 new corona infections in Berlin
Berlin's districts have reported 546 new Corona cases within one day. Last week, 64.4 cases were counted per 100,000 inhabitants, according to the health administration's situation report of Wednesday (10 February 2021).
Samples for a PCR test are packed by a laboratory technician.
This is a slight decrease in the seven-day incidence compared to the previous day (64.9). However, the Corona traffic light is still on red for this indicator. It would only jump to yellow from a value of 30, and to green from 20. On the dashboard of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), Berlin came out on Wednesday as the federal state with the lowest seven-day incidence. However, the figure (56.2) differs from the value reported by the state authority.
50 more deaths reported
According to the situation report, the district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf has the fewest cases per week with 39 per 100,000 inhabitants, while Spandau has the most with 86.1. The number of recorded deaths following Corona infections has risen by 50. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 2556 Berliners have died in connection with the virus. 113,476 of the total 123,735 infected are considered recovered.
R-value still in the green range
The proportion of intensive care beds occupied by Covid 19 patients has continued to fall slightly, to now 24.6 percent. This corresponds to a yellow Corona traffic light - but only just: the limit value for red for this aspect is 25 percent. The Corona traffic light is still green for the R-value: it is 0.75. This means that 100 infected people infect an average of 75 other people. If the R-value falls significantly below 1, the pandemic is slowed down.
