Berlin's districts have reported 284 new Corona infections within one day. This is according to the situation report of the health administration on Monday (08 February 2021).
This is less than on Monday of the previous week (455), but slightly more than on Saturday and Sunday with 222 and 156 cases respectively. According to the situation report, 122 887 cases have been registered since the beginning of the pandemic, of which 112 038 people are considered to have recovered. 2485 people have died so far in connection with the virus, 15 more than the previous day.
The number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week was 71.1 on Monday and thus roughly at the level of the weekend. The Corona traffic light here, however, remains on red. From a value of 30 it would jump to yellow, from 20 to green. Within one week, the incidence decreased by 16 per cent. The occupancy of intensive care beds with Covid 19 patients continues to fall slightly, to 25.1 percent. This is still just above the threshold for red on the Corona traffic light. At the beginning of January, the occupancy rate was still more than one third. The Corona traffic light shows green for the R-value: This is 0.93. This means that one infected person infects slightly less than another person. To slow down the pandemic, values well below 1 are needed in the long term.
