In Berlin, the number of new Corona infections continues to decline. On Thursday (28 January 2021), 503 new cases were reported, as the Senate Department for Health announced in its situation report.
The day before, there were 890 cases. The so-called 7-day incidence fell below 100. The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within one week was now 95.3. Nevertheless, Berlin's Corona traffic light remains red here. The target is less than 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in 7 days. The lowest incidence was recorded in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg with a value of 76.8, the highest in Mitte (114.8).
Intensive care bed occupancy rate at 30.1 per cent
The traffic light also continues to show red for the occupancy rate of intensive care beds. Here, the rate of 30.1 percent is only slightly below the value of the previous day (30.3). According to the situation report, 118,950 people have been infected in Berlin since the beginning of the pandemic, of whom 104,508 are considered to have recovered. 2195 people died in connection with Corona, which was 31 more deaths than the previous day.
