Test tubes for the Covid-19 test lie on a table at a Corona test site.

That is 771 more than the previous day. After the holidays with closed doctors' offices, fewer laboratory tests and delays in reporting by the authorities, the current increase can only be compared with earlier daily values to a limited extent.

22 more deaths

A total of 22 new deaths have been reported following Corona infections, bringing the total number to 1,327. 80,661 people are considered to have recovered. The Corona traffic light for assessing the situation is still red for two of three indicators: With 134.6 infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days, Berlin is still above the self-imposed limit of 30; more than a third of the intensive care beds are occupied by Covid 19 patients (34.5 with a limit of 25 percent).

Currently 450 Covid 19 patients in intensive care units

According to the latest figures from the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive and Emergency Medicine (Divi), just under 450 Covid 19 patients are currently being cared for in intensive care units in Berlin (as of 4.19 pm on Monday). According to the association, the number of these cases nationwide continued to rise over Christmas, an effect of the lockdown in effect since mid-December is not yet noticeable. To make forecasts, the association said it would wait until the underlying infection figures were more reliable again, probably from next week.
