Corona in Berlin: 1504 new cases

The curve with the number of new Corona infections continues not to flatten in Berlin. 1504 newly infected people were reported by the Senate on Tuesday (22 December 2020). The total number of registered infections is thus 89 534 cases. Of these, around 68,000 people are considered to have recovered.

The number of people who died after being infected with Corona rose by 42 to 1066, most of whom were over 70 years old. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) assumes that there is an unreported number of additional pandemic deaths throughout Germany, since the Corona infection is not recognised in every patient. The Senate's Corona traffic light remains red for two indicators: the occupancy rate of intensive care beds with Covid 19 patients (28 per cent) and the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days (216.7).
