In Berlin, another 30 people have died in connection with the Corona pandemic. In addition, there have been 1473 new infections compared to the previous day. This is according to the health administration's situation report of Thursday (17 December 2020).
An easing of the situation is still not in sight. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 958 Berliners have died in connection with the pathogen Sars CoV-2. A total of 83,691 infections have been recorded, and 63,341 people are now considered to have recovered.
Currently 373 patients in intensive care units
The Berlin Corona warning light continues to show red for two indicators: The occupancy of intensive care beds with Covid 19 patients has again increased slightly to 29.8 percent. The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days has also increased slightly to 199.3 and is thus still far above the warning value of 30. In contrast, the traffic light shows green for the so-called reproduction number, which is at 0.81, slightly below the value from the previous day. However, much lower values would be needed to slow down the Corona pandemic. According to the situation report, 1476 Covid 19 patients are being treated in Berlin hospitals, 373 of them in intensive care units. These values have also risen slightly.
