No singing: Stricter Corona rules at Christmas services

There is to be no singing in church at the Christmas services of the Protestant Church in Berlin, Brandenburg and Silesian Upper Lusatia. During the entire service, masks are compulsory, whether inside or outside, the regional church announced on 11 December 2020. Outside, at most one song is to be sung.

"We are doing everything we can to protect people's lives and health," said Bishop Christian Stäblein about the tightened measures. Nevertheless, we want to be there for the faithful in this difficult time. How many visitors are allowed to come to the open-air services depends on the number of new Corona cases in the respective district; however, fewer participants are allowed than initially specified. The new rules will apply from 12 December and can be found on the website of the regional church.
