Queue in front of Kitkat-Club for Corona test
Going to the Berlin Kitkat-Club has taken on a new meaning. For excessive parties the club has been closed for many months during the pandemic.
Instead, the Kitkat-Club now offers private, fee-based corona rapid tests in cooperation with a doctor and trained staff. On 4 December 2020, there was no shortage of visitors, and a queue formed around the entire building - with more or less distance between them.
After the current partial lockdown, other Berlin clubs also want to follow suit with quick tests. The aim is to enable people to move more freely again, said the spokesman for the club commission, Lutz Leichsenring, at the beginning of this week.
He adds that centres are planned where people who want to go out can be tested quickly and inexpensively before they visit restaurants, bars or even their grandmother. The clubs offer enough space for this. The indoor areas have been closed since spring and many club operators fear for their existence. In the meantime, events in outdoor areas were possible. It is not clear when clubs will be able to open again.
