958 new Corona cases in Berlin

The number of new corona infections in Berlin is declining - but the traffic light for the 7-day incidence remains red. Per 100,000 inhabitants there were 181.6 new infections in the past seven days. This is according to the Health Administration's situation report of Wednesday (2 December 2020).

The intensive care beds with Covid-19 patients were occupied to 24 percent, the corresponding traffic light continued to show amber, given the proximity of the 25 percent limit. Green the corona traffic light remained at the reproduction rate. It now stands at 0.89. The so-called R-value indicates how many people an infected person infects on average. The aim is to achieve values well below 1 so that the pandemic can be slowed down.

618 patients died after corona infection

In total, there have been 67,264 confirmed corona cases in Berlin since the beginning of the corona pandemic. This is 958 more than on Tuesday. Throughout Berlin, 618 patients have died after a corona infection - 24 more than the day before. 46,150 of the confirmed corona-infected patients are considered to have recovered. Spandau is still ahead among the districts in terms of the seven-day values. About 260 cases per 100,000 inhabitants were reported there in the period.
