The Berlin Corona traffic lights still only show red once. However, at 24.7, the occupancy rate of intensive care beds with Covid-19 patients is only a hair's breadth below the critical threshold value of 25 percent, according to the current corona situation report of the Berlin Senate of Wednesday (25 November 2020).
If it is reached, the traffic light would show red twice. A total of 302 Covid-19 patients were treated in intensive care units throughout Berlin on Wednesday, 7 more than the day before. The corona traffic light shows a clear red light for the so-called seven-day incidence: 218.4 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were reported in the last seven days. On Tuesday, the figure was 223.4. 50 new infections are considered the critical mark - Berlin is still far above this.
508 deaths in Berlin so far
Compared to the previous week, however, the figure has fallen by nine percent. In mid-October, the seven-day incidence had increased by well over 50 percent. Green is the traffic light for the R-value of 0.81. It indicates how many other people an infected person infects on average. According to the latest data, the number of newly added deaths in connection with Covid-19 disease has dropped from the previous peak value of 36 on Tuesday to 16. In total, there have been 508 such deaths recorded by the Stastik in Berlin so far. The number of new infections rose by 1630, 15 more than the day before. Since the outbreak of the virus in Berlin, 60,554 people have become infected. 38,449 people are now considered to have recovered, 1352 more than on Tuesday.
