In Berlin, health authorities reported 36 deaths with Covid-19 on 24 November 2020, more than ever before in one day.
In addition, they registered 1615 new corona infections, according to the situation report of the Berlin Senate. This was twice as many new infections as the day before and 43 more than on Tuesday last week. This means that 58,924 people have been infected in Berlin since the outbreak of the virus. 37,097 people are now considered to have recovered. The number of people who have died with a corona infection so far is 492.
The capacity utilisation of the intensive care units has increased further within a week. 24.2 percent of the intensive care beds in the capital are now occupied by Covid-19 patients. This represents an increase of exactly one percentage point compared to last Tuesday. A total of 295 people were treated in intensive care units on Tuesday, the same number as on Monday.
223.4 infections per 100,000 inhabitants have been reported in the last seven days. The so-called seven-day incidence thus fell by two percent compared to the previous week. The rate of change was negative for the second day in a row. In mid-October, the 7-day incidence had increased by well over 50 percent. Since then, the trend has reversed.
