At the end of the third week of the partial lockdown, one of the highest levels of new corona infections since the beginning of the pandemic was reported in Berlin. 1703 additional cases were recorded according to the status report of the Senate Health Administration of 20 November 2020, and the total number of cases is now more than 55,000, of which 33,850 are considered to have recovered.
The number of corona tests carried out last week, at around 70,000, was lower than in the previous two weeks (around 78,000 each). The proportion of positive tests continued to rise: to almost ten percent. Due to overworked laboratories, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) recently recommended that doctors test especially patients with certain symptoms, but not every case of cold symptoms.
1082 Covid-19 patients are currently being treated in hospitals Around 300 are in intensive care units - this corresponds to a 23.4 percent occupancy rate of the beds there with this type of patient. At the critical threshold of 25 percent, this traffic light would change from amber to red. Further green is the traffic light at the reproduction figure of 0.95: This means that an infected person infects another person on average. However, according to the RKI, longer values of well below 1 are needed to slow down the pandemic.
