This was the magnitude named by Health Senator Dilek Kalayci (SPD) on Tuesday (November 17, 2020) after a Senate session. She said that it was not yet clear which population groups would be the first to be targeted and would depend on the recommendations of several expert commissions at federal level. Among other things, the focus will be on older people or employees in hospitals and nursing care, Kalayci said.
The senator further explained that it is planned to administer up to 20,000 vaccine doses daily in six large centers. These centers will therefore be established by mid-December. There will also be mobile vaccination teams. It is not yet clear when exactly the first vaccines will be available.
