It is published daily online in addition to the data of the Corona warning traffic light. For the first time it could be found there on Wednesday. "The acceleration value indicates by how many percent the 7-day incidence has risen or fallen compared to the previous week," the Senate Department of Health announced on November 12, 2020, upon request. "This indicator is supplementary information to the R-value". However, it has no effect on whether the traffic light changes color.
About the Corona warning traffic light was discussed on Tuesday in the senate. It takes into account the percentage of intensive care beds occupied by Covid-19 patients, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days and the average number of other people infected by an infected person in Berlin.
The significance of this so-called R-value has recently been criticized. Secretary of State for Health Martin Matz explained on Tuesday that the Senate had agreed to leave it at three traffic lights, to continue to take the R-value into account, but to add information to speed up the infection process.
According to the Corona management report on Thursday, the new figure was +12 percent. The 7-day incidence was 202.5 - the critical threshold value is 50. The utilization rate of intensive care beds with Covid-19 patients was 21.4 percent, the critical threshold is 25. The reproduction rate remained in the unproblematic range at 0.78.
