Senate discusses rapid Covid-19 tests and Corona traffic light

On Tuesday morning (November 10, 2020), the Berlin Senate will once again discuss the corona pandemic and the further increase in the number of infections. According to a spokeswoman for the Senate, however, no new measures or tightening of the current infection protection ordinance are to be adopted.

The partial lockdown is only valid since Monday last week. Since then, museums, theaters, concert halls and swimming pools have been closed in Berlin, for example. The first step is to wait and see what effects these measures will have. However, several issues related to the pandemic are on the agenda at the same time.
The Senate Department of Health wants to inform about rapid tests. This will involve details such as how many will soon be available, how they will be distributed and who will be allowed to use them. One point to be discussed is the significance of the so-called reproduction rate. This R-value indicates how many other people an infected person infects on average. The Senate wants to deal with the question whether there are better alternatives.
According to the speaker, the future of the Corona treatment center on Jafféstraße will also be discussed. The emergency hospital on the fairground is considered to be ready for operation, is currently not yet used, but will probably still be needed.
