The increase is thus almost as large as on Thursday. The highest value since the beginning of the pandemic was reported on Tuesday with more than 1500 new cases. In Berlin, 23 652 people are now considered to have recovered; 292 died in connection with the virus, 5 more than the day before.
In the last seven days Berlin comes on 188,4 cases per 100 000 inhabitants, whereby the Corona traffic light stands here unchanged on red; green it would be with this indicator with values under 20. Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) spent for Germany as a goal of coming with the incidence again into a range of 50 cases. This would enable health authorities to track contacts of infected people. Berlin's most severely affected district, Neukölln, currently has 348 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants last week.
The occupancy rate of intensive care beds with Covid-19 patients has risen minimally compared to the previous day, to 19.5 percent (Thursday: 19.1 percent). For days now, the figure has been approaching the critical mark of 25 percent. An excess would let the Corona traffic light jump also with this indicator from up-to-date yellow on red. In the case of red with two of three indicators of the Corona traffic light prevails for the senate action need.
On green, the traffic light remains at the so-called reproduction number with 0.80. This means that an infected person infects less than another person. In order to get into a controllable situation again, the so-called R-value has to stay well below 1 for a longer period of time, at 0.7 or even lower, according to the Robert Koch Institute.
