Over 1500 new corona infections: Occupancy of intensive care beds increasing

Berlin has for the first time exceeded the mark of 1500 new corona infections reported within one day.

According to the Health Administration's situation report of Tuesday (November 3, 2020), 1513 cases were added, more than twice as many as the day before and almost 500 more than on Tuesday a week ago. On October 27, more than 1000 cases were reported within one day for the first time.

17.1 percent of intensive care beds occupied by Covid-19 patients

For the first time, the Corona traffic light also jumped to yellow for the occupancy rate of intensive care beds with Covid-19 patients: At 17.1 percent, the limit of 15 percent was exceeded. 218 Covid-19 patients are currently being treated in intensive care units. A week ago, the occupancy rate was around 9 percent. Experts expect a further increase. The corona traffic light jumps to red for this indicator when the occupancy rate exceeds 25 percent.

Berlin-wide 7-day incidence at almost 180

For some time now, the Berlin traffic light warning system has been showing red for infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days: The value is now 178.1 - the target is a number below 50. The district of Neukölln has by far the highest seven-day incidence with a value of 324.9.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 34,818 cases have now been recorded in Berlin, and 21,850 people are considered to have recovered. Compared to Monday, four new deaths have been reported in this context, a total of 265.
