Christmas market at Charlottenburg Palace cancelled
The Christmas market in front of Charlottenburg Palace is cancelled this year due to the Corona pandemic.
It "had to be cancelled by us today", the company WeBe Veranstaltungsmanagement announced on Monday evening (November 02, 2020) without giving any further reasons. According to the website, the market was planned to run from November 23 to December 26. Since this week, stricter rules have been in force in Berlin again in the fight against the Corona pandemic - among other things, Christmas markets are not allowed in November.
"Dear visitors, it is with great regret that we have to bring you the sad news that the Christmas market in front of Charlottenburg Palace 2020 will unfortunately not be able to take place", says the Christmas market page with reference to the Corona infection protection ordinance for Berlin.
He continues: "In recent months, we have been in regular contact with our tenants and tradesmen in order to examine every possibility of holding the Christmas market in front of Charlottenburg Palace in 2020. Even our comprehensive hygiene concept - which was rated as very good by the authorities - unfortunately does not allow us to hold the Christmas market in front of Charlottenburg Palace 2020".
