Two new corona deaths in Berlin: 1084 new infections
In Berlin, the number of new corona infections recorded has fallen slightly - to 1084. Two more people have died in connection with the virus.
This brings the number of registered deaths since the beginning of the pandemic to 255, the Senate Department of Health announced on Friday. This corresponds to 0.8 percent of all known positive corona cases in the capital. Nationwide, this rate is 2.1 percent with more than 10,000 deaths.
The number of new infections recorded was 1084 on Friday, 1131 on Thursday and 1161 on Wednesday. The age group of 30 to 39 year-olds is still the most affected by infections. Among the Berlin districts, Neukölln is still the region with the highest case numbers.
On deep red the citizens of Berlin Corona traffic light stands with the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days. With 160.2 this value has risen again from 155.6 last time - nationwide it is 99 per 100,000 inhabitants. The more infections there are overall, the higher the risk of infection in everyday life, even for particularly vulnerable groups and medical personnel.
The situation in the intensive care units of the capital remained almost unchanged. 155 corona patients are treated there, which corresponds to an occupancy rate of 12.2 percent of all available intensive care beds. Most deaths in Berlin occur among senior citizens - the average age so far has been 81 years. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 31,439 corona cases have been reported in Berlin. 20 302 people are now considered to have recovered (434 more than the day before).
