Berlin restaurants and bars must close again

After gastronomic businesses in Berlin have been allowed to serve guests on site again since the end of May under strict hygiene conditions, the Senate has now ordered a further closure. From Monday, November 2, 2020, restaurants, bars and cafés must remain closed.

The closures are part of the newly adopted measures to halt the rapid spread of the coronavirus. There are exceptions for restaurants with delivery service or take-away offers.

Delivery services still permitted

Restaurants, cafés and bars that offer their food and beverages for pre-order and take-away are still allowed to open. The applicable safety measures such as a minimum distance of 1.5 meters and the wearing of a mouth-and-nose cover must be strictly observed. It is also permitted to set up delivery services. However, a longer stay on site and catering at the table is not allowed until the end of November.
