783 new corona cases: incidence rate higher

The number of new corona infections within one day has decreased in the capital. According to the Corona situation report of the Senate, 783 new cases were registered in Berlin on October 22, 2020. The day before there was a plus of 971, the highest daily value since the beginning of the pandemic.

In contrast, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days (7-day incidence) continued to grow: according to the report, it now stands at 110.6 (previous day: 104.4.). Berlin is considered a risk area because the threshold value of 50 used for this purpose has been exceeded for some time.
So far, 24 480 corona cases have been reported. 17 447 people are now considered to have recovered. 245 patients died, an increase of two compared to Wednesday. The reported so-called 7-day incidence is still highest in the district of Neukölln. In the meantime, it is at 236.7 (lecture: 217.9). The proportion of intensive care beds occupied by Covid-19 patients in Berlin continued to rise: on Thursday it was 7.3 percent (lecture: 6.7 percent).
