New corona infections: 7-day incidence rises above 78
The strong increase in new corona infections in Berlin continues unabated.
On Thursday (October 15, 2020), 551 additional cases were recorded after 503 new infections the day before. This is shown in the situation report of the health administration.
More than 20,000 infections in Berlin since the beginning of the pandemic
This means that Berlin has passed the 20,000 infection mark since the beginning of the pandemic: The total number of confirmed corona cases is now 20,087. 15,391 (+265) of those affected are considered to have recovered. 238 people died in connection with Covid-19 (+2).
7-day incidence over 100 in three districts
The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days rose to 78.3, according to the data, which means that Berlin is still well above the critical threshold of 50. Neukölln continues to stand out with 170.0. Meanwhile, the figure is also above 100 in Mitte (127.3) and Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg (105.7).
4.6 percent of intensive care beds occupied by Covid-19 patients
The proportion of intensive care beds occupied by Covid-19 patients is 4.6 percent. Currently, 239 infected patients are treated as inpatients, 59 of them in intensive care units.
