The health authorities reported 252 new cases on Monday (October 12, 2020), while 245 more patients are considered to be recovering, according to the health authorities.

Eight districts above important threshold value

Eight of the twelve city districts are thus in part significantly above the critical threshold of 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days. Throughout Berlin, this threshold value has risen slightly and now stands at 62.2. From 50, a region is considered a risk area.

In the most severely affected district of Neukölln, the value fell slightly compared to Sunday and now stands at 138.8. In Mitte it remained at 103.2. The eastern districts of Pankow, Lichtenberg, Marzahn-Hellersdorf and Treptow-Köpenick are significantly below the threshold value.

Corona traffic light: seven-day incidence and reproduction value in the red zone

Berlin's warning system of three traffic lights shows red twice again. In addition to the seven-day incidence, the reproduction value is above the critical value. The average of the past few days is 1.2 - that is the average number of people infected by an infected person. The third traffic light remains green. It is determined by the utilization of the intensive care beds with Covid-19 patients.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, a total of 18,327 Berliners have become infected with the coronavirus. 14 652 are now considered to be recovered. 234 people have died in connection with the virus.
