According to official figures, the coronavirus continues to spread in Berlin. According to the health administration, 74 new infections were registered on Sunday (October 04, 2020). This is significantly fewer than in the past few days, although not all health authorities report current data on Sundays.
The average value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days - the so-called incidence - remains unchanged at 37.8. Most recently, the value that is important for the analysis of the occurrence of infections had risen continuously. It is highest in the district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg with 58.9. The district has replaced Mitte (57.0) as the front-runner, followed by Neukölln (56.7). In the other districts the value on Sunday was below the critical mark of 50.
In the corona warning system, one in three traffic lights has been on red for some time now due to the high number of new infections in the 7-day period. Green are the signals for the utilization of the intensive care beds and the reproduction value. This indicates the average number of people infected with corona. Since the outbreak of the pandemic in spring, 15,647 people in the capital have fallen ill with Covid-19. 13,270 patients (+102) of these are considered to have recovered. 231 died in connection with the disease (+/-0).
