Corona traffic light jumps to yellow: 42 new cases
The number of corona infections in Berlin has risen slightly within one day and the traffic lights have jumped to amber with regard to the dynamics of infection. As of Monday (August 10, 2020), 9739 people were infected with the novel corona virus, 42 more than the previous day, according to the health administration in the evening.

According to the study, 37 patients are isolated and treated in hospital, 15 of them in intensive care. So far 224 people have died in connection with the virus. That means there has been no new death. The reproduction rate is now 1.27. The traffic light is now amber for this indicator. The reason: the so-called R-value has thus reached or exceeded the critical threshold of 1.1 three times in a row. It indicates how many people an infected person infects on average under the current conditions.
New containment measures planned for two red indicators
On the other hand, the other two indicators continue to show green. In addition to the reproduction rate, the traffic light shows new infections and the required places for Covid-19 patients in intensive care units. The number of new infections per week per 100,000 inhabitants is reported to be 9.6 - well below the critical level of 20 or more per 100,000 inhabitants per week. The proportion of intensive care unit places needed for Covid-19 patients currently reaches 1.1 percent, with the yellow area starting at 15 percent and rising. If two out of three indicators are red, measures to contain the infections should be implemented.
The corona test obligation for returnees from risk areas in Berlin, which has been in force since Saturday, has apparently been complied with by many travellers.

The cities are already preparing for the magic of Christmas stalls at the height of summer - preparations for the Christmas market on Breitscheidplatz are also in full swing in Berlin.
