The so-called reproduction value on Thursday (July 30, 2020), unlike the previous days, was only 0.90, according to the Senate Health Administration. On Wednesday it was still 1.21. The last time this traffic light had turned red. The R-value shows how many people an infected person infects on average. It refers to infections 8 to 13 days ago. If the value remains stable above 1 for longer, there is a risk of an exponential increase in the number of cases. Then an infected person infects more than one other person. If the R-value is above 1.2 at least three times in a row, this traffic light shows red. In the 7-day statistic it was 1.17.

42 new infections as of Thursday

The other two traffic lights for new infections in relation to the number of inhabitants and the proportion of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units also show green. The number of new infections increased by 42 to 9191 cases as of Thursday. 41 people are isolated and treated in hospital, 20 of them in intensive care. So far 223 people infected with the novel coronavirus have died. After the three-part Berlin corona traffic light, measures must be discussed and prepared when two of the three indicators are yellow. If two of the three indicators are red, measures to contain the infections must be implemented.
