The number of confirmed corona infections in Berlin increased by 18 to 8655. 53 patients are currently being treated in hospital, the Senate Administration for Health announced on Monday evening (July 13, 2020).
That was 5 people more than the night before. The number of patients receiving intensive care treatment rose by 7 to 23. 219 people have died in connection with Covid-19 since March. This means that 2 registered deaths have been added since Sunday. The number of infected persons, who are now considered to have recovered, rose by 41 to 8036. According to the health administration, the Corona traffic light is still green for all three indicators.
The indicators are the reproduction rate - which shows the dynamics of the infection process - as well as new infections and the required places for Covid-19 patients in intensive care units. On Monday, the so-called R-value was 1.12. It is thus on the threshold of 1.1, above which the traffic light would change to amber if it was reached or exceeded three times in a row. The day before, the R-value had been 0.8.
In contrast, the number of new infections per week per 100,000 inhabitants has fallen slightly to 4.9 on Monday, still far from the critical level of 20 or more per 100,000 inhabitants per week. The proportion of intensive care unit places needed for Covid-19 patients currently reaches 1.8 percent, with the yellow area starting at 15 percent and rising.
