Since the beginning of the survey, a total of 6838 confirmed infections with Sars-CoV-2 have been detected. 198 infected persons died. Currently, 138 patients are still in hospital, 40 of them are being treated in intensive care.
The reproduction rate - which indicates the average number of people infected by an infected person - rose to 1.66 on Monday, which is above the critical threshold. However, the Senate administration said that the reproduction number is susceptible to fluctuations when the number of cases is low.
There are three indicators for assessing the situation in Berlin: In addition to the reproduction rate, the number of new infections per week and 100 000 inhabitants and the proportion of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units. The other two indicators were in the green range on Monday. If two of these three indicators were to exceed certain limits, politicians would see a need for consultation or action.
