More than 5800 corona cases: Berlin-Mitte most affected

In Berlin, 5821 people were demonstrably infected with the novel coronavirus by Wednesday. That is 83 more than the day before, according to the latest figures from the Senate Health Administration.

147 people in whom the virus was detected died - ten more than on Tuesday, when the increase compared to Monday was also ten. 88 of the dead were 80 years and older, 34 were 70 to 79 years old. In addition, there were 14 people aged between 60 and 69 and nine 50 to 59 years old; two of the dead were 40 to 49 years old.
According to the administration, there are currently 604 patients in hospitals, 157 of whom are receiving intensive care. The remaining patients are in domestic isolation. Among the districts, Mitte continues to lead with 861 Covid-19 cases, followed by Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf (672) and Neukölln (632). The authority pointed out that the data were "incomplete due to technical changes in the reporting software of the Berlin health authorities".

BVG: Almost all passengers wear masks
