Another demonstration against corona rules on Saturday

One day before another protest against the Corona contact restrictions in Berlin, it was not yet clear on Friday with which regulations and conditions people are allowed to meet on Saturday.

A police spokeswoman said there were still talks with the person who registered the rally near Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz. There should be a clarification by Friday evening. Already on past Saturdays, several hundred people had demonstrated against the restriction of basic rights they feared. Among the participants were many conspiracy theorists and right-wing populists.
However, according to the Corona Directive in Berlin, only demonstrations with a maximum of 20 participants and a lot of distance between people are currently permitted. It was not yet clear how the police intend to prevent that significantly more people gather again. Conceivable are barriers on the streets around the square and the Volksbühne. Last Saturday, 260 police officers were on site. Because of the Corona pandemic, many of them wore face masks.
