People in Berlin and Brandenburg will probably be able to celebrate the turn of the year with unusually mild temperatures this year.
According to the German Weather Service (DWD) in Potsdam on Tuesday (28 December 2021), almost spring-like temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees are expected on New Year's Eve on Friday. In addition, there will be rain or drizzle in some areas. According to the forecast, temperatures will rise to 7 to 11 degrees on Thursday with rainy weather.
The change will already begin on Tuesday afternoon when rain moves in from Saxony-Anhalt. In the east and northeast there is still a risk of black ice in the evening due to freezing precipitation. Highs will range between 1 degree in the Uckermark, 3 degrees in Berlin and 5 degrees in the Fläming. Wednesday, too, rain with 3 degrees in the Uckermark, 4 degrees in Berlin and 6 degrees in the Elbe-Elster lowlands.
