Interruption of the north-south lines of the Berlin S-Bahn
The Berlin S-Bahn has been experiencing considerable problems since early Thursday morning.
Traffic in the North-South Lines tunnel is interrupted after a train jumped off the track at Friedrichstraße station on Thursday (Dec. 16, 2021). According to an S-Bahn spokesman, it is still unclear when the closure, which affects the lines S1, S2, S25 and S26, can be lifted. No trains are running between Potsdamer Platz and Nordbahnhof stations. On the remaining sections, operations are limited. The S-Bahn recommends passengers to bypass the closed section using the Ringbahn, the Stadtbahn lines as well as subways and regional trains.
