Berlin labor market continues to improve
Concerning the situation of the Berlin labor market, the positive trend continues. Around 180,300 people were registered as unemployed in Berlin in November.
As the regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency announced on Tuesday (Nov. 30, 2021), there are thus about 5,800 fewer unemployed people than in October and 22,000 fewer than in November of last year. The unemployment rate is currently at 8.9 percent, 0.3 percentage points below the October rate. Compared to November of the previous year, the umemployment rate decreased by 1.2 percent.
Demand for labor remains high
"The positive trend on the labor market has continued in the region in November," announced the head of the Regional Directorate Berlin-Brandenburg, Ramona Schröder. Authorities had recently assumed a continued positive development in the labor market situation during the coming weeks and months. The demand for labor remains high in Berlin. Almost 22,900 open positions were reported by companies in November - around 4,300 more than in the previous year.
