Visitors are either required to wear a mask, for example at the Christmas markets at Berlin Town Hall and at Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. or the 2G rule applies which means visitors must be vaccinated or recovered, for example at the Christmas marketsat Gendarmenmarkt and in Spandau. There, proof of vaccination or recovery is checked at all access points.
Some Christmas markets have been canceled, including the popular markets at Charlottenburg Palace and in Rixdorf in Neukölln. The other organizers hope that Coronavirus safety rules will not be tightened further. Last year, all Christmas markets were canceled at short notice due to the pandemic.
