Until December 19, visitors can enjoy mulled wine, roasted almonds, as well as several carnival rides such as a ghost train, a chain carousel, and bumper cars. There will be A fireworks display at 8 pm on opening night. Many other Berlin Christmas markets start around November 22.

Mandatory face masks and limited maximum number of visitors

According to the organizer, the Christmas fair on Landsberger Allee is the successor to the popular carnival «Wintertraums am Alexa» and welcomes all visitors regardless of vaccination status. Visitors have to wear face masks and keep the mandatory minimum distance.

Meanwhile, the restaurants inside the fairground are only open for vaccinated visitors or those who have fully recovered from a previous Covid-19 infection (the so-called 2G rule). About 2000 visitors are allowed at the fair at the same time. At the entrance, the face mask requirement will be controlled. At the stalls and inside the restaurants, the stall operators are responsible for compliance with the rules.

Christmas markets allowed under 2G rule

Last week, the Senate had passed a face mask requirement for Christmas markets. However, this does not apply for Christmas markets opening under 2G rules. In that case, only vaccinated and recovered people have access to the market, as well as children under twelve years of age and people who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons.
The organizers of the Christmas market at the Spandau Citadel and the Christmas market at Gendarmenmarkt are planning their markets following the 2G model. The Christmas market on Breitscheidplatz opens under 3G conditions, meaning that visitors need to be vaccinated, recovered, or show a negative Covid-19 test result. All in all, there are around 50 Christmas markets in Berlin.
