As of today (04 October 2021), the BVG have introduced a new payment option. From now on, tickets can be purchased not only by credit card and smartphone, but also with a BVG prepaid card. The card can be loaded with a maximum credit of 150 euros and can initially be used on all buses, as well as for all products in BVG customer centres.
For the introduction, the card is available in all customer centres and can be loaded with credit there, or in the online portal. The card is not tied to a specific person. Passengers can have the remaining amount paid out when the credit is no longer needed.
