Uber announced the German launch of Eats in April. In the Corona pandemic, food delivery became a much more important business area for the company, while there were slumps in ride services. At launch in Berlin, around 500 couriers are on the job, mostly with bicycles and e-bikes. They are employed by local delivery companies with which Uber cooperates.
